Input

SteelCad offers three powerful, convenient methods of input. With the E-Plan design module, you can import an engineer's design drawings directly from programs like Intergraph's Frameworks Plus or RAM International's RAM Advanse to detail steel automatically from the design criteria and information embedded in the engineer's drawings.

SteelCad's E-Plan design module is compliant with Standard detailing Neutral File (SDNF) format, and we are currently working in conjunction with the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) on the development of the new Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) file format (also known as CIS).

You can also use the E-Plan module to create sophisticated erection drawings from scratch, which SteelCad then uses to automatically detail individual members and render them in a 3D environment.

Or you can detail individual members in a piece-by-piece format and use E-Plan to create static erection drawings not linked to the actual details.
